Knowledge & Employability (K&E) is a program available to students in Grades 8 and 9. It is designed for students who are experiencing difficulty in the regular academic program and who learn best through hands-on activities.
K&E courses concentrate on basic skills essential for the workplace, community and home. Students obtain a sense of success and achievement in their learning experiences and develop entry-level job skills.
Students can continue to take K&E courses in high school. When a student successfully completes senior high K&E courses, they earn a provincial certificate of achievement. They may also gain a general high school diploma, though it may take extra time.
